Job Description
Our client, a reputable organization in the Pension Fund Administration sector, seeks a detail-oriented and proactive Internal Control Officer with CISA certification to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring robust internal control frameworks that safeguard company assets, promote operational efficiency, and ensure compliance with pension regulatory standards. This role combines operational and IT audit responsibilities, ensuring that all processes and systems function efficiently, securely, and in alignment with regulatory and organizational standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute internal control policies and procedures in compliance with PenCom regulations and internal processes including IT system controls.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and operational reviews to identify financial, operational, IT risks, control gaps, and areas for improvement
- Monitor and ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and ethical standards
- Maintain proper approval processes, clear separation of duties, and controlled access across all departments.
- Collaborate with department heads to ensure control deficiencies are appropriately addressed before they emerge
- Train and support staff on internal control processes, compliance requirements, data protection and cybersecurity awareness
- Analyze reports and data to identify potential risks or irregularities.
- Stay up to date on regulatory changes, IT update standards and best practices in internal control and risk management.
- Support management in improving the company’s overall risk and IT control framework.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field; CPA, CIA, or CISA certification preferred
- 5-7 years of experience in internal auditing, internal controls, or risk management roles, preferably within the pension or financial Services sector.
- Strong understanding of PenCom regulations, internal control systems, practices, and risk management frameworks (e.g., COSO).
- Good Knowledge of auditing standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify risks and assess the effectiveness of internal controls.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in auditing and documentation.
- Proficiency in audit tools and software, as well as Microsoft Office suite.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical behavior in handling sensitive information and investigations.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
