Job Description
A Digital Microfinance Bank is seeking an experienced and visionary Managing Director (MD) to lead its strategic direction, operations, and overall performance. The MD will be responsible for driving business growth, ensuring financial stability, building a robust digital infrastructure, fostering strategic partnerships, driving innovation in digital banking, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. This role requires a dynamic leader with a proven track record in digital banking platforms, microfinance operations, and digital transformation.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership & Business Growth
- Develop and execute the bank’s strategic goals and objectives to increase market share and profitability.
- Lead expansion initiatives, including new products, digital banking solutions, and fintech integration.
- Identify and secure strategic partnerships and investment opportunities.
- Oversee financial planning, budgeting, and risk management to ensure sustainable growth.
- Revenue Growth & Profitability
● Drive customer acquisition strategies for lending and deposit mobilization.
● Optimize loan portfolio management and risk assessment processes to enhance profitability.
● Expand revenue streams through innovative financial products and services. - Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management
● Ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements from CBN, NIBSS, NDIC, NFIU, and other governing bodies.
● Implement robust risk management frameworks and internal control measures.
● Build and maintain strong relationships with regulators, investors, and key industry stakeholders. - Operational Excellence & Digital Transformation
- Improve operational efficiency in banking services and delivery channels.
- Drive the bank’s digital transformation by integrating digital solutions into core operations.
- Foster a culture of innovation to enhance digital banking products and services for an exceptional customer experience.
- Corporate Governance & Team Leadership
- Ensure adherence to corporate governance standards and ethical practices across the organization.
- Lead a high-performing team to deliver on strategic objectives while fostering a collaborative work environment.
Qualifications
- B.Sc. Banking & Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; an MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in the financial services industry, with at least 8 years in senior or executive leadership roles.
- Strong knowledge of microfinance banking operations, digital platforms, and regulatory compliance frameworks.
- Proven track record of driving growth through innovation in digital banking or financial services.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making abilities.
